Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 October 2026

In short: SchematicStudio is a drawing tool. You own your drawings; we own the software. You are responsible for checking that your designs are correct and safe before anything is built from them. You can cancel any time.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and SchematicStudios (“we”, “us”), which runs SchematicStudio at schematicstudio.co.uk (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you are using it for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

SchematicStudio is a browser-based tool for drawing electrical schematics, managing cables and terminals, laying out control panels and producing a bill of materials. There is a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. What each includes is described on our website and in the user guide. We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you and you can cancel.

4. Free trial, Pro plan and payment

5. Your content

6. Our software and content

The Service, its source code, design, symbols supplied by us, help text and branding belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is active. You must not:

Drawings you produce with the Service, including printed and exported ones, are yours to use for any purpose, including commercially.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service for anything unlawful, to upload malicious code, or to store content that infringes others’ rights or is abusive. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why where we can.

8. Important: you must check your designs

SchematicStudio is a drawing and documentation aid. It is not an engineering authority. It does not check that a design is safe, correct, or compliant with any standard or regulation (for example BS 7671, IEC 60204-1 or machinery and EMC requirements). Bills of materials, cable and terminal schedules, dimensions and other generated output depend on what is entered and may contain mistakes.

A suitably competent person must check and approve every design, and verify all output, before anything is ordered, built, wired or put into service. Electrical work can cause injury, death and fire. You are responsible for how you use the output.

9. Availability

We work to keep the Service running but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance or have outages. The Service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows.

10. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected, including that digital services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.

Otherwise, and in particular for business customers:

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account from My account, which also cancels any subscription. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or to comply with the law. If we close it for any other reason we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your work. When an account is deleted, your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Your data

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we change features or the law changes. For changes that matter, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they apply.

14. General

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts. If you have a complaint, email us first and we will try to resolve it.
